Requirements for Certification
To earn your Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® certification, you must meet the following criteria:
- Active Certification: Hold a current Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) certification with the Scrum Alliance.
- Course Attendance: Successfully complete the A-CSM educational offering, including all educator-designed components and pre- or post-course work.
- Experience: Validate at least 12 months of work experience specific to the role of Scrum Master (within the past five years).
- Agreement: Accept the A-CSM License Agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance membership profile.
Note: You may take the A-CSM course at any time after completing your CSM certification; however, you must have at least 12 months of Scrum Master experience logged into your Scrum Alliance profile before you are eligible to receive your A-CSM certification.

Your Instructor
Lance Dacy has been a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST®) since 2015, an agile coach since 2008, and a product leader since 2011, guiding teams through successful Scrum implementations at organizations from Fortune 20 enterprises to early-stage startups.
He holds a Master’s in Data Science from SMU, a rare combination that gives him the applied AI expertise to teach Product Owners to use modern tools as force multipliers rather than replacements.
Lance founded the DFW Scrum User Group, coaches agile leaders nationwide, and helps managers build cross-functional, self-organizing teams that deliver value at modern speed.
Lance also leads Big Agile's dedicated AI for Product Managers workshop, where he goes deeper into prompt engineering, AI tool selection, and product strategy in AI-augmented organizations.
